**Job Description** Reporting and Compliance**
- Managing, in conjunction with the HQ Transfer Pricing Team (TP), the annual review of TP documentation requirements, functional analyses and margin reviews for entities across the region
- Review of US GAAP reporting submissions relating to European entities
- Managing our outsource tax compliance account, working in partnership with our external outsource provider, EY. This account is worth in the region of USD1m per year
- Primary responsibility for managing Visa Europe Tax’s relationship with Controllership in relation to non UK entities to ensure clear understanding of key accounting changes and any implications for reporting, deferred taxes and payments
- Embedding process changes required to respond to new legislative changes across Europe such as Digital Services Tax to manage risk across the entire Visa’s entire European footprint
- Identifying opportunities to optimize the use of tax reliefs available to the group such as R&D credits and capital allowances in order to generate cash flow savings to Visa Europe as a whole and
- Leading on Visa Europe’s response to tax audits across our European footprint including managing its relationship with overseas advisors/lawyers. The tax potentially at stake in relation to such audits is in excess of USD 10m and professional fees are in the region of USD 500k per annum.
**Business advisory**
- Engaging with senior stakeholders in the provision of tax advice to the Visa Europe business across the European footprint in order to manage CIT tax risk and maximise cash flow opportunities. This includes, inter alia, new business ventures which have a multi million USD value
- Building and managing key stakeholder relationship with Corporate Treasury in the UK and US to ensure effective management of dividend flows, cash repatriation, capital adequacy requirements, capital contributions, loan financing and other new initiatives
- Working in partnership with CoSec & Legal to manage any changes to the corporate structure and operations in Europe
- Partnering with the Global Transfer pricing team to effectively manage new European transfer pricing initiatives
- Providing Tax support to the Visa Europe Head of Tax, on acquisitions and joint ventures across the regional footprint
- Providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders on changes to international tax legislation which can have a material effect on Visa Europe’s profit margins and
- Working in partnership with the European VAT team to effectively horizon scan on legislative developments and identify new business activities with Corporate Tax implications.
**Other**
- Line management of the direct tax team (2 individuals at present, though this number may increase in due course)

- Engage in effective communication with senior stakeholders and leadership across the Visa Europe business and Global Tax Team
- Deliver appropriate training and guidance to the business
- Influence the business perception of tax, challenging the status quo, initiating and establishing best practice processes across the tax team
- Be able to work under pressure and be flexible in dealing with issues as they arise and
- Be active in working towards a best in class tax team
- Manage and develop tax advisor and tax authority relationships
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
**Qualifications**
- CTA or ACA qualified or European equivalent
- Experience working in house on reporting, direct tax compliance and advisory projects
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Able to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels and areas within the business
- High ethical and quality standards
- Ability to effectively manage and develop people
