King’s College, Soto de Viñuelas, part of the renowned King’s Group, has been delivering excellence in British education since 1969. Located in the beautiful surroundings of northern Madrid, our flagship school serves students from Nursery to Year 13 and offers a dynamic, international learning environment.-
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Teach engaging PE lessons across both Primary and Secondary phases, following the UK National Curriculum.
- Assess and report on student progress, maintaining clear records.
- Support student wellbeing, behaviour, and safety across all activities.
- Organise and contribute to school sports events, inter-house competitions, and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues in planning, curriculum development, and school initiatives.
- Participate in parent meetings, staff training, and whole-school events.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**:

- A degree in PE (or related field) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- At least 2 years' experience teaching PE, ideally across both Primary and Secondary levels.
- Experience teaching GCSE PE is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of the UK curriculum and international school settings.
- A collaborative, proactive teaching style and a passion for student wellbeing and sport.
- Willingness to engage in extracurricular programmes and whole-school life.
- (Desirable) Experience in department coordination or leadership roles.

**1. Local Area Information**
The main site of the school is approximately twenty km from Madrid. Largely surrounded by countryside the school offers an excellent educational environment. By September nearly all teaching rooms will be equipped with interactive whiteboards and computers linked to the whole school wireless network.

Madrid itself offers a wide range of cultural, sporting and social opportunities. The range of world class art galleries, museums and architecture really do make it one of Europe’s great cities. To the north of Madrid are a number of mountain ranges offering wildlife, superb hiking and in winter, skiing. The nearest ski station to Madrid is forty five minutes away.

On the social front, Madrid has been described as the city that never sleeps. The Madrid culture is based around the café culture. It is not unusual for the city to have traffic jams at three in the morning. Whilst the culture is lively it is never threatening unlike some city centres you may come across in the UK. The city and its surrounds offers a really good quality of life for those willing to embrace the Spanish culture.
