Job Title:Buyer

Michael Kors is looking for a Franchise & Distribution Buyer who is opportunistic and product focused to grow a successful and expanding Franchise business to the next level. This individual will partner with management, stores, sales support, and Franchise & Distribution partners to identify opportunities, develop, and execute strategies to build strong assortments that will achieve/surpass financial objectives of the division. Strong analytical skills, creative problem solving skills and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment are a must.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the critical path from range presentation and selection through to buying, making adaptations to react to market changes and specific needs Responsible for creating and maintaining effective tools for retail range management.
- Organizing seasonal markets with the partners in either of the MK showrooms in Europe and present/sale all collections to Franchise partners, as well as Sample management for distribution.
- Define & develop the market calendar to ensure timely orders entry in MK systems for both Distribution & Franchisee’s
- Develop selection and buy strategically for Franchise department delivering a commercial range that maximizes sales and profit opportunities and ensure Franchise & Distribution portfolio of lifestyle stores are merchandised in line with MK company strategy
- Liaise with Planning/ Ops/ Marketing and Partners to develop Product Capsule relevant for market needs ensure capsules are delivered in timely manner.
- Leverage cross-functional teams and initiatives to create opportunities for Franchise & Distribution, working closely with EU & US merchandising to ensure needs of the regions are covered.
- Drive trade - review business analysis to track selling, identify key trends and maximize opportunities in the assortment to achieve continued growth and profitability of the licensee business.
- Aggressively drive the business by identifying opportunities and developing action plans to maximize best results through reorders, challenging business partners and status quo.
- Prepare selling hindsight’s on weekly, monthly, quarterly, seasonal basis. Use information learned to communicate opportunities and action upon the needs of the business to management and team in order to drive results for the business.
- Ensure right product at the right time to meet partners requirements and brand consistency as well as VM.
- Prepare for and attend store visits and make recommendations to drive business
- Manage the development of merchandising guidelines and product knowledge information to the stores presenting in seasonal kick off’s.
- Responsible for developing and executing merchandising and promotional strategies, always identifying areas of opportunity for both Licensee & Distribution.
- Recommend timely markdowns on goods and reorders on best sellers. Share insight and opinion based on experience and analysis in order to grow and impact business and develop the CO strategy.
- Review & challenge seasonal forecasts for distribution business, approve accounts ensuring in line with company strategy and brand vision, continuously challenging status quo.
- Develop the distribution business working alongside management to define purchase agreements and develop future plans in line with global needs.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
- 4+ years relevant experience
- Computer Literate - Strong Excel Skills
- Proven ability to thrive in entrepreneurial environment with financial acumen
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines
- Experience working in an international merchandising function in a monoband
- Available to support peer Buyers and proactively share knowledge.
- Experience in buying for Ecommerce advantage
- Strong knowledge of trends, fashion sense and know-how.
