Currently, in stealth mode, FounderNest is an AI company born out of Stanford and Wharton, and based in Silicon Valley that helps corporations identify the best-fitting external stakeholders (e.g., startups, scale-ups, SMEs, research initiatives) for their business needs and for any type of engagement (e.g., investment, M&A, partnership, sales, contracting). We do this based on our proprietary deep profiling and analytics. Our product uses multiple data sources and combines metadata and real-time growth signals to deliver highly qualified deal flow to corporations based on specified multi-variant criteria. Think of the most accurate company search engine. An augmented Google that finds you the companies you are looking for, in one single search, and with no noise.

As FounderNest’s first Head of Data Science - Lead Data Scientist, you will:

- Be in a privileged position to contribute to building the area from scratch and to grow it as far as you want.
- Understand the whole context of the business and how data is generated, processed, and leveraged around it. Find and analyze primary data sources/providers and analyze the grade of overlap between them.
- Build, test, and measure data-based tools (e.g., Search Engine, recommender systems) and models (e.g., AI / Machine Learning) to exploit our data asset.
- Support Data Engineers in designing and building data pipelines, and Data Intelligence Analysts with data exploitation for business and product analytics.

**What you will do**

As a startup, things may evolve but we have some degree of certainty on the areas we would want you to lead. We are a bit structured-minded at FounderNest (you’ll see that when you meet us) so we have grouped them in the following main buckets:

- Drive our product development with respect to its use of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science techniques in general: We have built a big data asset with many sources, both structured and unstructured, that we want the get the most value of.
- Help build the foundations of Data Science at FounderNest, a critical area at the core of the company that will grow as the company grows: As the first member of the team, you'll be instrumental in helping define our data strategies and eventually build, lead, and grow the Data Science team from scratch.

**What you will bring**
- You have 4+ years of Data Science experience, ideally at a high-growth, mission-driven, tech startup, where data is at the core of its business.
- You are at a point in your career where you are not afraid of starting the Data Science efforts at a rapidly-growing company such as FounderNest.
- You have grit, you don't mind rolling up your sleeves and tackling all tasks necessary to get the job done, you actually enjoy the process, and you love leading by example.
