EMEA Shared Services Associate AR and AP

Location: TBD (Duisburg, Alphen aan den Rijn, or Madrid)

Status: Non-exempt (Hourly)

Position Summary

Core

**Responsibilities**:
Accounts Payable
- Process received invoices in AP software, coding invoices, and routing for approval within the pre-established guidelines and policies
- Match received invoices against purchase orders and receiving transactions, where needed. Work with the operations team to resolve 3-way match discrepancies
- Pull supporting documents required for weekly payments, entering payments into banking software accurately
- Work with suppliers to reconcile statements of account ensuring payments and credit are accurately applied
- Maintain a strong internal control environment compliant with SOX
- Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships within the organization; engage with cross-functional partners proactively in completion of job responsibilities
- Support ongoing process improvement projects
- Represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions
- Perform all other duties as assigned

Accounts Receivable
- Work with sales and operations to create invoicing for multiple customer sites and locations. Includes several billing types.
- Ability to multitask a high volume of invoicing requests.
- Upload invoices created to multiple customer portals.
- Assist with the processing of monthly sales tax filings and obtaining annual exemption certificates
- Ensure timely payments of sales tax to multiple states.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment compliant with SOX
- Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships within the organization; engage with cross-functional partners proactively in completion of job responsibilities
- Support ongoing process improvement projects
- Represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions
- Perform all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
- Associate degree in accounting preferred
- At least one (3) years of experience in an accounting or customer service or detail-oriented role required
- Approach all work activities with a customer service focus
- Ability to work across geographies
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
- Excellent follow-through
- Must be driven and self-motivated
