**UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT TEAM LEAD (WITH FRENCH) in Madrid, SPAIN (M/F)**

One of the leading global reinsurance companies and insurance providers, operating for nearly 50 years through subsidiaries in Bermuda, Canada, Europe, Singapore and the US, is opening their business to Europe and is looking to build their new team in Madrid, Spain

Their mission is to build a team with a strong culture, with lots of opportunities for development and with a strong client orientation.

**TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES**

Main goal: Lead the Team of Support to the Underwriters across new or existing classes of business written, whilst working as a member of the Underwriting Support team which oversees delivering accurate risk, record keeping and reporting.
- Monitor the performance of a team of Underwriting Assistants and develop a series of performance metrics.
- Assist with the professional development of the team.
- Set objectives for the team and manage their progress towards these.
- Conduct employee performance reviews for Underwriting Assistants within the team.
- Help to establish a consistent process for Underwriting Assistants and help embed this process across Underwriting Teams.
- Maintain and monitor the flow of work between underwriting teams and the service provider
- To ensure items and issues are addressed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist the team in the performance of their tasks when needed.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Demonstrable team leader experience and skills.
- Sound knowledge of general, commercial insurance practices.
- Commercial awareness, with a knowledge of the insurance market and external changes which would impact on our business.
- Excellent numeric, analytical and written skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Effective prioritization and organizational skills.
- Relocation to Madrid, Spain.
