CIB's Risk Control Assurance Area (RCA) is responsible for ensuring the proper management of all types of operational risk to which CIB is exposed and their possible reputational impact, extending the methodology for identifying and monitoring risks and promoting the establishment of the necessary mitigation, control and monitoring measures in the operational processes/activities carried out by the Area, as well as those outsourced by it. CIB's RCA monitors the functioning of the Area's control environment and its effectiveness.

**About the job**:
The Communication Surveillance Associate is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on employee communications within the Investment Bank to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role involves detecting and mitigating risks related to market abuse, insider trading, and any breaches of conduct.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Monitoring and Analysis**:

- Use advanced surveillance tools and software to analyze communication data effectively.

**Compliance and Reporting**:

- Ensure that all communication monitoring activities adhere to regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
- Prepare detailed reports of findings and escalate potential issues to senior compliance officers and relevant stakeholders.

**Investigation and Resolution**:

- Investigate potential breaches of compliance, market abuse, or misconduct, collaborating with other compliance officers and legal teams as necessary.
- Assist in the management and resolution of compliance issues, recommending corrective actions if needed.

**Policy Development and Training**:

- Contribute to the development and enhancement of communication surveillance policies and procedures.
- Participate in training sessions and awareness programs to educate employees on compliance and surveillance matters.

**Continuous Improvement**:

- Stay updated on regulatory changes and emerging trends in communication surveillance.
- Work with IT and other departments to improve surveillance technologies and processes.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, legal studies, or a related field.
- At least 4-5 years of experience in compliance, surveillance, or audit within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., CNMV, EBA, FED, SEC, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in surveillance technologies and data analysis tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Fluent English (C1) and other European languages are valued.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience using surveillance platforms.
- Familiarity with global financial markets and investment banking operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
