**Role and Responsibilities** Join our Civil Aviation Regional Safety team leading the implementation of safety management processes and driving the transformation of our safety culture across our European training centres. Based at either our Madrid or Amsterdam sites, you’ll manage Safety Officers around the continent (including a large amount of European travel), as well as educate and influence our senior management to ensure safety principles are always a key pillar of our commercial operations. You’ll lead the delivery of the framework for centralised safety management systems to enhance our safety culture, and proactively identify and minimise hazards and risk. You’ll also lead safety audits to ensure CAE achieves its’ safety targets and complies with various European and country-specific regulatory frameworks. You’ll join our team as we are embarking on an ambitious and critical transformation programme to ensure safety remains at the heart of our operations. We’re likely to continue to grow as a team so you’ll have plenty of opportunity for personal growth and development, including role evolution into people management or regional manager level responsibilities. **The role we are offering you** - Delivering the framework for, and implementing, our centralised Safety Management Systems (SMS) in Europe - Developing strategies for data and information sharing to shape strategic decisions related to risk management processes - Delivering the safety management plan and ensuring we meet our safety performance targets, as well as producing related training courses, promotional materials for civil division employees - Mentoring Safety Managers across our European centres to enhance safety culture and practices, encouraging a continuous improvement mindset - Supporting periodic safety auditing programmes to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks - Communicating and coordinating with regulatory authorities on safety matters - Providing SME input to safety working groups and fostering a collaborative environment for reporting, suggestions, and learning - Conducting investigations for incidents and maintaining the feedback and monitoring systems - Experience in aviation safety/ regulatory compliance/ safety auditing or related field - Experienced in the use of safety management systems - Knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing aviation safety (European or country-specific) such as ICAO or EASA - Proficient English language skills (additional languages beneficial) **What else would be beneficial/ desirable?** - Human factors knowledge/ experience - Prior experience with safety auditing **Location**: Amsterdam, Netherlands OR Madrid, Spain We operate a hybrid approach to on-site and remote working, however this role involves a significant amount (around 50%) of travel across Europe to our training centres. **What kind of person will succeed in this team?** We’re looking for you to be highly collaborative and a strong communicator.
