Aardvark Swift are supporting EA Sports in their search for a Character Artist to join their Madrid studio. Once a part of EA you’ll come to appreciate that you’re not just a part of one studio, you’ll be a part of the EA Art team that is spread around the world forming a global community of content creators from Character, Environment, Lighting, VFX and Technical Art.
As a Character Artist at EA, you will build the project’s complex and detailed organic and inorganic characters in Maya. You will work with the Lead Character Artist to ensure assets meet the required quality standard and report to the team Development Manager
**The skills and experience required for the role**
- 5+ years industry experience in modelling and character art
- Relevant Bachelor's degree or higher
- Experience working with Maya, Photoshop, and ZBrush
- Experience in prototyping
- Comfortable with cross team collaboration
- Knowledge of current industry-standard tools, workflows, and techniques including physically based rendering
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, clothing construction (wrinkle behaviour), proportion, silhouette, and topology and how it relates to rendering and deformation.
- Understanding of a broad mix of character-related disciplines such as modelling, texturing, shading, rigging & binding, animation, facial animation, and blend shapes
- Skilled at preparing assets for physical simulations such as cloth, hair
- Able to interpret 2D reference material and scan data into 3D textured and surfaced models
- Documentation of workflows for use through the team
