**What the Role Delivers**

[The Formulation lab technician will support the development of new formulations across all Agrofresh product categories (regulators, coatings, fungicides, detergents, sanitizers) as well as supporting existing portfolio. In addition to formulation development, the role will also be responsible for biology testing related to formulations development as needed. The role reports into the Global Formulations lead.

**K**ey**Responsibilities**:

- In order of relative importance_

Assist in preparing chemical and biological formulations for postharvest treatments (e.g., edible coatings, anti-fungal solutions, detergents ).

Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale trials to evaluate formulation performance and stability.

Monitor and record quality parameters (firmness, weight loss, color, microbial load, etc.) during storage trials.

Perform physical and chemical characterization of formulations (e.g., pH, viscosity, particle size, stability).

Document formulation procedures, test results, and observations accurately.

Support scale-up and technology transfer of formulations to semi-industrial and industrial levels.

Collaborate with R&D team to improve formulation efficacy and shelf-life.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols and good laboratory practices in formulation development.

Provide technical support and training to stakeholders, including farmers, distributors, and postharvest facilities.

Lab material supplying and maintenance.

**What the Job Requires**
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Postharvest Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.

**What to Have Done and Know How to Do**_. _
- Basic knowledge of postharvest physiology and shelf-life preservation techniques.
- Familiarity with lab equipment (pH meters, refractometers, texture analyzers, master sizers, GC...).
- Good documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and SOPs.
- Team-oriented with strong communication and time management skills.
- Knowledge of statistical software and data analysis tools relevant to efficacy testing.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Fluency in English
