Dow has an exciting job opportunity for a Junior Innovation Engineer to be located in Tarragona, Spain, within the Technical Expertise & Support Department.

The Technical Expertise & Support (TES) is a critical component within Dow providing maintenance, process improvements, project execution and operations support via best-in-class technical solutions to Dow businesses globally. TES unleashes new collaborative power to optimize the contribution of Dow’s assets more effectively and seamlessly throughout their life cycle. As an Innovation Solution Engineer in TES, you work at the intersection of chemical operations and new technologies like Robotics, Sensors and Additive Manufacturing.

Roles and Primary Responsibilities- Primarily responsible for supporting or leading technology projects for the optimization of plant production.- Collaborate with experts around the world for state-of-the-art technology, interact with the Digital Operations Center on emerging technology and drive implementations on the production site and small production facilities in the region.- Ensure all solutions deployed are highly reliable and can scale while adhering to all applicable internal requirements and external/government requirements.- With a focus on innovation and sustainability, you will use your expertise and familiarity to ensure the manufacturing site is up to date which delivers value and has direct impact on safety of operation.- Provides mentorship and coaching to peers on the topic of digital technology.- It is also expected that you will travel up to 10% or as much as necessary to meet the needs of your site/region.

Required Qualifications:
- Master Level Degree in technical Engineering fields.- Ability to flourish with mínimal guidance, be proactive and handle uncertainty.- Strong communication skills, fluency in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in 3D printing, robotics, sensors, and other digital technologies.- Self-motivated to learn quickly and delivery high-quality results with a strong focus on innovation.- Other Critical Skills:
- Innate and insatiable curiosity about technologies, with the ability to quickly learn and exploit cutting edge offerings to achieve business objectives.- Demonstrate continuous improvement mindset and creativity.- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.- Partnering with end-users and internal customers to sell ideas to those customers is important in this role.- Delegate and work closely in a non-reporting relationship with others.- Work with diverse team members in different geographical locations.- Creative and comfortable with various communication mediums.- Engaging with technical and non-technical audiences.- Entrepreneurial mindset.- Lead and resolve very complex problems and situations.- Strong troubleshooting skills to handle technical issues in a timely manner.- Ability to clearly frame and document new project designs.- Chemical industry work process knowledge or experience also beneficial.
