Contract Specialist

As a member of the Study Start Up Team, you will play an integral role in making sure that our research sites are prepared to start the trial of investigational, new pharmaceutical and biological products for clinical trials.

The Role
- As the key point of contact for your sites, you will be responsible for the negotiation and ongoing management of clinical trial agreements with investigative sites.
- Responsible for compiling, analyzing and summarizing legal and business positions of parties during the negotiation of contracts according to Sponsor/project specifications.
- Responsible for examining contracts and related documents to ensure completeness and accuracy, as well as conformance to applicable laws, rules, precedents, company, customer and third party requirements in collaboration with internal and external experts.
- Responsible for the review of site budgets contract templates, negotiation parameters and process documents.
- Provide accurate forecasting of contract execution timelines to support timely start up activities.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to explain legal and budgetary issues and review of contracts for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate closely with other functional areas including colleagues within Study Start Up and the wider Clinical and Project Delivery teams

What you need
- A bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Juris Doctor (law) degree, or related experience is preferred but not required
- Study Start Up experience is desirable but not required. Note that the primary part of the role is within a clinical research environment in study contracts review and budget negotiation
- Experience working within contracts administration with an understanding of legally binding agreements
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal communication, team work, conflict management and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under dynamic and time sensitive environment, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and produce quality results with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to proactively identify issues and address/escalate as appropriate.
- Ability to exert effective influence upon investigative sites and customers and advanced ability to effectively communicate business and legal rationale for contractual provisions and positions.
