Look at the BSC experience: BSC-CNS YouTube Channel Let's stay connected with BSC Folks We promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, fostering an environment where each and every one of us is appreciated for who we are, regardless of our differences. **Context And Mission** The Digital Health Unit, led by Dr. Paula Petrone, applies artificial intelligence to healthcare with the goal of delivering innovative solutions that make a true impact for patients. **Key Duties** - Develop AI models for cardiology, with emphasis on: - Analysis of cardiac signals using advanced signal processing methods - Medical image analysis in cardiology - Integration of biomarkers into predictive models - Application of deep learning, transformers, foundational models, and generative AI approaches - Collaborate with clinical researchers and cardiologists to co-design and validate AI tools. - Ensure models are robust, explainable, and clinically relevant. - Publish and disseminate results in scientific and innovation forums. **Requirements**: - Education - Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields. - PhD is welcome (plus), but not required. - Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience - Hands-on experience in deep learning applied to biomedical data, with emphasis on deep-learning, transformers and foundational models. - Strong background in signal processing, particularly for biomedical signals such as cardiac data. - Proven expertise in medical image analysis, preferably in cardiology or related healthcare domains. - Solid programming skills (Python or similar) and use of deep learning libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow). - Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience - Experience collaborating with clinical partners or working on healthcare datasets is an advantage. - Familiarity with biomarkers or multimodal data integration is desirable. - Competences - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams (engineers, clinicians, researchers). - Fluency in English, Catalan, and Spanish. **Conditions** - The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department - We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures - Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration - Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement - Starting date: asap **Applications procedure and process** - A full CV in English including contact details - A cover/motivation letter with a statement of interest in English, clearly specifying for which specific area and topics the applicant wishes to be considered.
