**Accountant - Europe**
**Reporting to: Europe Controller**
**Job Summary**:
MPS is seeking an energetic, efficient, self-motivated and resourceful team player to be a member of its accounting staff supporting our European subsidiaries.
The Accountant reports to Europe Controller and will be based in Barcelona, Spain.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Accounting records of the company's operations in Europe.
- Accounts Payable: Invoice registry, approval tracking, fund requests and payments posting.
- Reconciling compensation general ledger accounts, preparing journal vouchers, and providing management with timely and accurate analysis and reporting.
- Identifies and proposes accounting solutions for new or unusual business transactions, and helps to ensure that the day-to-day accounting is consistent with corporate accounting policies, procedures and GAAP.
- Supports Audits, SOX compliance
- Support for ad hoc projects as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- BS/BA or technical degree in accounting, administration or related field
- Accounting/Admin. knowledge with 1-3 years’ experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (C1) (other EU language is a +)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and organization skills.
