Downpour Interactive is looking for a QA Lead to join us in creating high profile original titles in VR, ranging from social and competitive multiplayer to character driven action and adventure single-player games. As a QA lead in conjunction with reliably executing your daily testing responsibilities, you must demonstrate an expert fundamental knowledge of the QA process, as well as expertise in multiple forms of testing methodologies and the industry standard tools required to fulfill these duties. You will be leading a QA team and required to create test plans, identify, and offer solutions to observed problems while assisting in furthering the growth of the department to provide a consistent high-level support structure to the development team.Our goal is to ensure that builds remain stable and that our games meet the quality bar we have set for internal milestones. As we get closer to completion, you and your QA team will become the last line of defense to ensure that a game is as bug-free as possible before it is released to the public.

**QA Lead - Downpour Interactive Responsibilities**:

- Direct group testing and provide guidance to your QA team
- Independently generate and execute project-specific test cases
- Work with the development team to investigate hard to find issues by using in house tools and software
- Find defects in the game through ad hoc testing or formulated test plans and logging them in our bug tracking database
- Assist in coordinating between multiple departments to help facilitate the completion of project goals
- Generate and review bug tickets that reflect high-level standards in both formatting and information provided
- Stay alert and informed to all potential technical obstacles that could have an impact on QA procedures or the project itself, such as platform or engine updates
- Ensure the day-to-day stability of the project
- Stay up-to-date on current and incoming project-specific features

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- 4+ years of experience working in the game industry
- Attention to detail and a natural problem solver
- Experience working independently
- Experience in a high paced production environment
- Record and document game design and features
- Proficiency with JIRA or any equivalent bug tracking software
- Working knowledge of multiple game hardware platforms such as PC and VR
- Flexibility in a consistently unpredictable environment, such as suddenly shifting between projects and tasks when needed
- Experience with persistent online multiplayer titles and the processes for clearing routine updates for release

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Demonstrates expert knowledge and execution of multiple testing methodologies such as Halo, Black Box, and White Box
- Experience with versioning control software such as Perforce
- Previous video game testing experience
- Experience with Virtual Reality hardware and games
