You will be working as a Commercial Leader in the Onshore Wind Commercial International team for South Europe. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be part of the wider GE Renewable Energy Onshore Wind International business unit spanning this important growth region. You will be part of a dynamic working environment collaborating with colleagues in Sales, Commercial Operations (Commercial and Technical Leaders), Services (Operation & Maintenance), Project Management and other functions, where you will be responsible for all bidding and commercial activities for assigned opportunities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead bid deal teams, drive and coordinate the overall commercial and technical proposal development as part of the customer procurement processes and requests for proposal (RFP)
- Actively participate in the development of the commercial strategy for deals under oversight, identify and capture value optimisation opportunities in order to generate winning proposals for the customer
- Own the commercial aspects of the opportunity including commercial package and contracts preparation (including terms & conditions), internal costing, in close cooperation and partnership with the Technical Leader, the Sales Account Manager and extended multi-functional teams such as Risk, Legal, Commercial Finance, Tax, EHS, Project Management, etc.
- Present proposal summaries including commercial risk and mitigation plans to the risk review board (R-table) and obtain necessary management/functional approvals for all critical items of each transaction
- Present offers to customers; Lead on drafting and negotiation of equipment and services (operation & maintenance) contracts, including all terms and conditions, supporting documents.
- Manage the hand-over of the signed deals to the project management department (OTR) for successful execution.
- Participate in broad Commercial Operations team processes, lean initiatives, trainings and growth initiatives as requested by Commercial Director.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Fluent in English and preferably one additional language (such as Spanish, French or Italian)
- Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts for large infrastructure projects
- Understanding of basic legal concepts behind contracts' terms and conditions
- Experience in a Commercial or Sales function in the infrastructure industry or similar
- Enthusiasm and interpersonal skills for working with customers
- Strong process analysis, problem solving and strategy development skills
- Ability to take decisions in the face of limited or conflicting data
- Willingness and ability to travel and work intensively during negotiation periods
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels of organization, from peers to executive level presentations
- Proven leadership skills in virtual project teams, ‘can do’ and collaborative attitude
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities simultaneously
- Dedicated to detail while keeping the bigger picture in mind
- Calm and professional in challenging situations
