**Boeing Research and Technology Europe & Brazil** is seeking a **SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuels) Project Lead,** working out of the Madrid office in Spain.
The SAF Project Lead will manage the Boing Global Technologies SAF technology development portfolio. They will conduct risk and opportunity assessments, develop project timelines, track progress to plan and manage execution for the SAF project portfolio. They will also coordinate with project owners to communicate project status and major milestone progress to internal partners.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manages the Global Technologies SAF technology development portfolio;
- Monitors project execution for multiple projects aligned with SAF technology development objectives for performance to plan.
- Coordinates risk assessments for projects in their portfolio and partners with project owners to develop and execute mitigation plans.
- Tracks and reports on schedule and financial performance to plan for projects in their portfolio.
- Creates and delivers reports on portfolio status and performance against key indicators to BRT leaders and other internal stakeholders.
- Collaborates with internal finance team to monitor actual cost incurred against released budget and support reporting requirements.
- Advises BRT leadership and SAF working teams on SAF portfolio development and planning.
- Supports and leads colleagues working on SAF research projects.

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)**:
- Experience leading research projects;
- Must have complete ability to create project schedules which identify time frames for key project milestones, independently identify project resource requirements, collaborate with others on more complex projects assigned, and assist others in complex large-scale projects;
- Strong technical research skills and the ability to synthesize results and make recommendations;
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with research institutions, senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners;
- Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to various audiences using range of mediums;
- Experience multi-tasking and working in a team environment;
- Fluent in both written and verbal English;
**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)**:
- Bachelor's degree or higher;
- 5+ years of experience in project management, communicating with stakeholders and portfolio management;
- Relevant advanced degree in ESG or sustainability topics
- Experience with sustainable aviation fuels, propulsion, clean energy transition, climate change, or related topics;
- Familiarity with aviation industry’s commitments to decarbonizing the industry;
**Typical Education & Experience**:
Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
