The Department actively engages with society, decision-makers and businesses to exchange knowledge and develop user-oriented services. The aim is to enhance knowledge and technology integration and improve resilience, by accelerating adaptation to a rapidly changing environment.**Key Duties** - Work with the BSC-ES researchers developing AI solutions to co-design innovative strategies to communicate the main outcomes - Plan, coordinate, and carry out communication and dissemination activities in BSC-ES - Develop the content and format of user-oriented dissemination and outreach materials and/or coordinate with external providers for their preparation (e.g., factsheets, booklets, videos, websites, etc.) - Suggest innovations in terms of Earth sciences communication and identify opportunities for funding this research - Coordinate with other initiatives related to the communication and user-engagement activities in international conferences and other events - Link with the BSC Communication team to promote the dissemination of the key research outcomes (e.g., research papers, press releases, etc.) - Travel to relevant conferences, events, and workshops **Requirements**: - Education - Solid background in science communication - Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience - More than two years of experience in science communication and dissemination positions. - Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience - Previous work on the topics of climate or air quality will be valued - Experience in stakeholder and policy engagement will be valued - Previous experience in EU-funded research projects and writing of project proposals will be valued - Competences - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - Ability to work in a professional environment within a multidisciplinary and international team - Good public speaking abillity **Conditions** - The position will be located at BSC within the Earth Sciences Department - We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance - Duration: 4 years - Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement - Salary: 45.000,00€ - Additional Expenses Grant: Each fellowship will be associated with a grant for additional expenses, such as IT equipment, travel, training, stays, etc. - Starting date: asap - the incorporation for this vacancy must be before the 16th of December 2024 **Applications procedure and process** - A full CV in English, including contact details. - A cover/motivation letter with a statement of interest in English, clearly specifying for which specific area and topics the applicant wishes to be considered.
