Job description

We are looking for a European Internal Communication (IC) Manager. The position will be located in our European Headquarters in Madrid, Spain.

We are a European industrial gases company with locations over 13 countries and over 3,000 employees. Within each country we have different facilities, so the communication department is essential to keep our employees in touch with what is going on in the business.The IC manager will be responsible for designing and implementing communication plans that support the business goals and other departments in having the right messages distributed. For this, the IC manager will:

- Fully understand the company strategy and day to day, being able to identify how to support the business from the communications role.
- Build relationship with key stakeholders in order to be informed about the main company events, news and stories, building an environment in which people feel confident to share their success stories.
- Design communication plans that take into account every factor, including the goal, company channels, audience, senders
- Provide stories to regularly update the communication channels, especially the European intranet, the quarterly magazine, the Employee Teleconference and the leadership monthly update. The IC manager will have full responsibility in the design of the content and update of these channels. This will require being aware of topics, proposing pieces, coordinating the information with the business, coordinating interviews, reviewing the layout
- Promote the usage of new and innovative communication tools and channels, managed directly or not by the internal communication department like Viva Engage.
- Give support to the internal communication regional teams in the implementation of the European communication plans.
- With the support of the internal communication agency, record videos supporting our communication strategy: review the scripts, decide the speakers, be on site during recording, provide editing and post-production feedback
- Full accountability of the company events, from the design phase to the event execution, including support to speakers and agenda management.

As a European role, travelling will be involved. As a guidance, a maximum of once per month with 1 to 2 nights stay in a European country.
Training, business information and support will be fully provided to develop these responsibilities in a very dynamic, professional and positive environment.

Job requirements

**Academical Background**
- Degree in Journalism, Communication or Marketing.

**Professional Experience**
- 10 years of previous work experience.
- Experience in internal communication departments, managing the intranet, writing articles, staying in touch with the business.
- Desirable: experience in industrial companies.

**Competency Profile**
- Fluent English level is a must - native speakers will be highly preferred
Excellent writing skills.
- Team player, building constructive relationships with the peers.
- Able to work with autonomy.
