Chemistry Lab Staff Researcher

ICFO is offering a staff researcher position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

1. Management and maintenance of the chemistry Lab facilities of the group (including safety, consumables, orders, budgeting etc.)
2. Developing know-how on synthesis of nanomaterials as per the group’s projects needs.
3. Retaining know-how generated by postdocs/phd students and ensure continuation of know-how and activities on specific materials/processes.
4. Training on the use of the chemistry lab and synthesis of nanomaterials of students and postdocs of the group.
5. Supply of nanomaterials to scientific collaborators or industrial collaborators.
6. Expected to contribute in scientific publication writing or proposal writing on tasks related to material synthesis.

The successful applicant should have strong and demonstrated experience in the following topics:
1. They should have prior experience as per the description of tasks mentioned above.
2. They should have demonstrated expertise on the synthesis of colloidal quantum dots. Direct expertise on the synthesis of quantum dots absorbing and emitting in the infrared part of spectrum will be positively evaluated.
4. They should have demonstrated record in working in multidisciplinary groups (i.e. not groups working exclusively on synthesis of materials) or successful demonstration of collaborations with physicists/device engineers in multidisciplinary projects.

Salary is offered according to the institutional salary scales.

The contract is offered for permanent position.
