- Data Platform in the Cloud & Data Platform area.

What is the purpose/mission of the position?

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to work with our engineering team to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based data solutions. The role is focused on our data platform infrastructure so experience deploying and managing Azure Data technologies such as Data Factory and Data Bricks is required. You will be responsible for deploying and debugging cloud stacks, educating teams on new data/cloud initiatives, and ensuring the security of the cloud & data platform infrastructure.

To be successful as a cloud engineer for our data platform, you should be able to identify the most optimal cloud-based solutions to support our business, maintain cloud infrastructures in accordance with best practices and company security policies. A top-notch engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills, stay current with industry trends, and should be a team player.

The Data Platform team has a permanent core of approximately 5 employees, which is currently being supplemented by employees who are deployed on a project basis. Your colleagues and stakeholder have the following roles: Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Product Owner

What you need to bring- You have a passion for IT and Data.- You have experience managing Azure Datalake Storage, Azure Databricks Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Server, Azure Data Factory.- You have knowledge with IaaC deployment preferably Terraform and experience with containers.- If you are a certified Azure Data engineer is a big plus

What are the tasks that you’ll perform?- Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.- Operating a Cloud Data Platform making sure is cost and functional efficient.- Analyze and maintaining the data platform components making sure they are running within our security policy.- Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.- Designing, developing, and deploying modular cloud-based data systems.- Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.- Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.-
- Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.- Interacting with stakeholders, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on business needs and requirements
