**POSITION PURPOSE**
The SPA Studios aims to continue to blend the use of CG and 2D traditionally animated characters to tell stories that delight audiences. In order to accomplish this, we need a versatile CG Supervisor, unafraid of unconventional pipelines. The CG Supervisor participates in crafting a pipeline and use of Cg that support the story. Through the establishment of rigorous technical guidelines she/he supports the creative vision by helping tailor a pipeline and workflows that are effective in delivering imagery.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Serves as final decision-maker on all technical issues that span multiple artist disciplines (for example, makes the call on the most appropriate workflow between different disciplines when consensus cannot be reached).
- Evaluate render needs based on the use of CG specific to the approach she/he has defined.
- Design and implement tools required for execution of CG/2D workflows
- Is the technical approver for all things related CG in the studio.
- Helps with projections when it comes to rendering, storage and oversees
- Directly oversees new, show-specific workflow and technology innovations. May perform or delegate the 'product owner' role for new technology on the show.
- Partners with CTO, Head of PIpeline to establish long term workflows and make decisions that serve the studio beyond a project.
- Partners with the Head of Pipeline to enact decisions related to the technical development and implementation requirements of the show / shows including workflow, tool and pipeline decisions.
- Communicates proactively and consistently across show and studio about show technical priorities, requirements and concerns
- Liaise with the technology team for decisions on the color pipeline.
**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Graphics
- Significant post production experience including experience working as a CG Supervisor
- Excellent knowledge of the pipeline
**REQUIRED SKILLS AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES**
- Displays exceptional developmental skills along with the talent and desire to continually restructure and enhance the production pipeline.
- Expert knowledge of python and shell scripts and working knowledge of applicable software platforms.
- Understanding of Aces CG/OCIO Color pipeline workflow
- Proven ability in setting standards for all technical directors in continually raising the bar for speed, quality of work and adaptability.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with energy and enthusiasm within a team environment and with mínimal supervision.
- Experienced knowledge of Blender, Maya and Nuke
- A self-starter with the proven ability to initiate and complete new projects.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects, work with diverse personalities and work within strict deadlines.
- Must possess a keen eye for aesthetic detail and the ability to effectively communicate with both the creative and production staff.
- Has superb problem solving skills and takes initiatives to offer ideas and suggestions
- Ability to prioritize tasks managing time very well, providing everyone with accurate time estimates on shot task completion
- English is a must, as all work will be developed in this language.
- Spanish communication skills are an asset**.
