Import/export Senior Analyst

- WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
nVent is seeking a proven Import/Export professional. In this role, you implement a balanced process for EMEA Enclosures segment around product classification and country of origin determination.

The role involves up to 10-15% traveling per year.

Are you an analytical professional, desiring to work in collaboration and cross-functionally with key internal collaborators and partners? This is for you
- YOU WILL:

- Develop a sustainable process for classifying new parts (raw materials and finished goods) and determining country of origin
- Determine Harmonized Tariff Schedule classifications and Free Trade Agreement preferential treatment eligibility
- Create Long-Term Supplier Declarations and other product Certificates of Origin
- Maintain relationship with Enclosures EMEA import/export customs brokerage partners
- Run all import, export, or related transactions and applicable administrative EU and foreign government programs to ensure all paperwork is processed efficiently and in a timely manner and meets all compliance requirements
- Guide/advise our in-house logistics team around the operational execution of importing and exporting goods to ensure peak service performance, cost-competitive agreements and legal compliance with all countries of origin or destination
- Maintain great partnerships with Freight forwarders, customs brokers, and Importer of Record (IOR) service providers and communicate with import/export-related authorities
- Oversight and review of trafficking, container tracking, freight forwarders, and import/export documentation management systems
- Tariff, Duty and Trade agreement oversight - Anticipate, research and report on future changes in import/export laws and relevant local territory practices to make strategic adjustments to methods and procedures to optimize company benefit
- Create ad-hoc data requests for accuracy and completeness.
- Support Trade Compliance Managers in gathering and analyzing information needed for monitoring, investigations, and audit.
- YOU HAVE:

- Ideally 5+ years or more experience working for an EU in the Trade Compliance and/or Customs Compliance organization
- Knowledge of: EU Harmonized Tariff Schedule, EU Rules of Origin and transformation rules, Import/export regulations, EU Free Trade Agreements
- Proficiency in English language, written and spoken communication
- Organized, diligent, strong analytical skills; ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, and have a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment.
- Highly motivated, self-starter willing to meet strict deadlines and time constraints and work independently with little or no supervision.
- Would be a strong advantage if you are a Licensed Customs Broker
