**Your day to day**
What’s the job?**
As Chief Engineer you’ll manage the engineering/maintenance of your hotel and ensure the safety and comfort of hotel guests and team members. You’ll be a master multitasker and be comfortable with any repair needs. Motivating and training your team with the skills to keep hotels always looking their best.
You will report to the General Manager.
**Your day-to-day**
- Direct daily engineering needs, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right team in place.
- Oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance work.
- Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching, feedback and create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognize good performance.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures to minimize risks and hazards.
- Maintain relations with outside contacts including guests, regulatory agencies, others as needed.
- Help guests needs to ensure their satisfaction.
- Use a maintenance program to ensure the hotel is maintained and in service for our guests.
- Maintain and order parts and supplies whilst minimizing waste and maintaining “green” initiatives.
- Ensure that stores have adequate stocks of materials, equipment, tools and that they are kept in a clean and safe environment.
- Take responsibility for the cleanliness and safety aspects of all plant and/or mechanical equipment rooms
**What we need from you**
What we need from you**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent. Hotel experience will be highly valuable.
- Experience in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields.
- Knowledge of local supplier will be a plus
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
