The senior engineer (preferably in Mechanical Engineering) will be responsible for leading the Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) function, proactively providing advice, solutions and problem solving to ensure mechanical integrity and reliability of the equipment of the chemical production plant site.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the world's largest chemical companies. Focused in the production of different chemical products.

The senior engineer will work in the site located in the Barcelona metropolitan area and focused in the PVC production.

The senior engineer will be integrated into the local Management team (reporting to site manager) and into the RBI Global Team (reporting to Team Manager).

Main tasks will be:

- Act as specialist and central point of contact for mechanical integrity inspections of the site.
- Provide technical leadership for pressure equipment inspections and other equipment inspections.
- Identify best practices, inside the company in other sites or outside the company in similar industries, to improve the RBI function. Continuous improvement culture mindset.
- Define, deploy and implement projects that help to improve the RBI function.
- Ensure communication, reporting and sharing of experience across the site.
- Ensure communication, reporting and sharing of experience with the RBI Global Team.

The senior engineer needs operational experience in quality assurance / quality control in high hazard manufacturing sites; knowledge and experience in methodology and standards (like SEVESO or COMAH) for high hazard manufacturing sites; knowledge and experience in inspection methods, mechanical pressure systems and design codes; high level to work independently; and ability problem solving and decision-making.

Global and multicultural internal stakeholders. So, a competent level of English language knowledge is necessary.

Travel availability. To travel regularly in Europe.

Aptitudes y conocimientos deseados:

- Engineering education. Preferably Mechanical Engineering studies. -Minimum 8 years with operational experience in the chemical industry. -Proven expertise in high hazard manufacturing sites in Risk Based Inspection function or QA/QC function. -Knowledge and experience in high hazard standards (like SEVESO or COMAH). -Knowledge and experience in inspection methods. -Knowledge and experience in mechanical pressure systems. -Competent level of English language. -High level of independence and autonomy to work. -Problem solving and decision-making ability. -Enthusiastic with the field presence and fieldwork. -Travel availability. To travel regularly in Europe. Once per month. Short duration trip.
