The role of the Project Manager requires strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, ability to self-direct, strong background in Data Center design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements and an emphasis on project/construction management, Data Center lease market experience, client representation and project and Project level services.

The Data Center Substation & Offsite Cabling Project Manager is the Employer’s Representative and is responsible for the delivery of core & shell and tenant improvements for a single Data Centre project or multiple projects as may be assigned to them.

**Responsibilities**:

- The Substation & Offsite Cabling Program Manager reports to the Sub-regional Data Center Director. The Substation Program Manager is responsible for the delivery of day one and day two substations and the associated offsite cabling projects in several regions and will be supported by a site-based team during the construction, fit-out and commissioning and handover phases of the projects under the main pillars of delivery of Safety, Quality, schedule and cost.
- The applicant will be required to manage several regional consultant Substation Project Managers.
- The Substation Program Manager role can be summarized to include:

- Work closely with Energy Team to outline project requirements and create scope of works for contractor RFP.
- Complete all project pre-construction works until handover to regional Project Manager.
- Engage in all procurement discussions and activities for Vendor, contractor and equipment contracts where applicable.
- Ensure that the regional PM’s set up, chair and minute project site meetings as may be required and, ensuring that the client team is fully informed.
- Prepare and maintain a Project Execution Plan identifying the roles and responsibilities of the project team, the Contractor and specialist sub-contractors and suppliers and seek approval from the CPM.
- Establish the procedure for communication between the client, the consultant team and Contractors and use reasonable endeavours to ensure that this procedure is always observed.
- Liaise with the Client team, consultant team and Contractor to establish all key project processes to support the project’s delivery and monitor these processes reporting and making recommendations to the CPM.
- Liaise with the Client team, consultant team and Contractors to establish, review and regularly update the Project Risk Register. Agree and monitor Risk Mitigation Plans and provide input into quantitative risk analysis reviews. Chair and manage risk workshops.
- Liaise with Integration Lead to develop and manage the Integration plan inclusive of all connections between Substation, FOC & SOC.
- Liaise with the consultant team and co-ordinate the preparation of alternative viability studies, feasibility studies, sensitivity analyses and investment appraisals.
- Advise DCD Team on specialist services, including consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers required in connection with the Projects.
- Liaise with the consultant team and advise DCD of its obligations under local and national jurisdictional construction, design management or safety regulations or statutes.
- Liaise with the consultant team and advise DCD on statutory approvals required and fees due in respect of the Projects. Recommend payments process and procedure to the CPM.
- Through the Design Team and Contractor, liaise with utility, local and statutory authorities to establish their requirements for the Projects. Check that those requirements are communicated to DCD, Design Team, and Contractor, and use reasonable endeavours to secure compliance with them.
- Support the contractor in discussions with neighbours and other third parties.
- Review the General Contractor's Construction Plan, Site Logistics Plan, Health & Safety Plan and Quality Plan prior to construction start. Make recommendations to the CPM.
- Liaise with the Client team and the consultant team and establish a structure and procedure for quality management. Establish review, approval, variation, and reporting procedures. Prepare recommendations for the CPM’s approval.
