**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director, Engineering and Technical Services, the Project Manager, Engineering is accountable for successful completion of various capital projects while providing technical support and guidance in troubleshooting plant equipment and service issues. This position provides proactive and effective support to improve systems and processes needed to increase efficiency, visibility, and issue management.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Provide technical support and guidance in troubleshooting plant equipment and services.
- Manage various capital projects, from concept, execution through commissioning.
- Create and manage Capital budgets.
- Represent the Company in dealing with all levels of Government pertaining to permitting and obtaining the necessary approvals.
- Preparation and negotiation with vendors.
- Schedule projects, resources and monitor project timelines.
- Provide indirect direction and leadership in Maintenance Departments to assess and prioritize process/project opportunities and manage them from beginning through to completion.
- Ensure all outsourced tradespeople are knowledgeable regarding the company's Health and Safety policy.
- Assist Plant Managers in fostering a continuous improvement culture in the manufacturing facilities.
- Involved in all new equipment decisions, installations, upgrades, redesigns, physical plant changes or repairs.
- Monitor productivity of the group and identify root causes of discrepancies for any arising issues.
- Identify key CFIA facilities requirements for federally regulated food plants.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of internal and external individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize a heavy workload.
- Accountable and takes ownership of all tasks and projects engaged.
- Review and approve product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, regulations, requirements, safety standards, and industry guidelines.
- Provide monthly progress and status reports regarding technical, cost, and schedule performance.

**Requirements**:

- 5-7 years of progressive experience in managing capital projects, with an Engineering Degree. Preferably P.Eng designation.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Experience working within the food and beverage industry.
- Excellent negotiating skills, problem-solving skills with root cause analysis experience.
- Travel is required within the GTA.
