Joining AXA XL as Construction Underwriter you will have the opportunity to thrive in an international environment, working with a wide range of clients to provide an innovative and bespoke underwriting service. In your underwriting role you will be responsible for writing new and renewal business for an allocated range of clients across the book, working with brokers and clients in support of the profitable growth of a portfolio in line with the agreed Business Plan, as well as developing high quality levels of relationships with brokers, clients and internal functions
- This is a regulated role under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity regime._

**What you’ll be DOING**

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Reviewing submissions including policy wording, inspection reports and financial reports while conducting appropriate research to determine the degree of risk for each account.
- Calculating appropriate risk premium by considering the risk costs inherent to the sector.
- Proactively advising, assisting, servicing, and following up with clients on insurance and risk management matters to ensure satisfaction and fulfillment of their insurance requirements.
- Effective relationship management to initiate opportunities for cross-selling offered products and ensuring account retention.
- Controlling timely implementation of new and renewed accounts according to quality standards.
- Supporting the business planning and forecasting process; monitoring financial exposure within outlined limits; monitoring premium income to ensure it remains within set limits.
- Maintaining awareness of all claims advised

**What you will BRING**

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

- Engineering Degree
- Experience in similar roles OR knowledge of Insurance/ Risk industry and Construction risks
- Communicate and work in Spanish and English
- Motivation to grow professionally in a high-expertise team and international work environment
- Analytical thinking, performing fact and data-based analyses of situations or issues
- Understand stakeholders’ needs and concerns and identifies points of agreement. Efficiently manages the interactions with other parties involved.
- Ability to respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovation.
- Work in team with colleagues of different seniority and expertise to achieve collective goals.
- Appreciate and propose new and creative ideas, taking practical considerations into account
