The Senior Data Engineer will be part of the Data Rebels team in Leroy Merlin Spain, reporting to the Analytics & Insights Manager. Their mission will be to deliver actionable and impactful insights to any area of the company and solve business questions with data.
The Senior Data Engineers will create data pipelines and make it possible to take big amounts of data to be translated into insights. Therefore, we are looking for proactive and practical team players with out of box thinking, willing to share the challenge of becoming Leroy Merlin in one of the more advanced companies in Spain regarding data to provide best-in-class data products to our business.
Some of the key aspects to develop by the Senior Data Engineer will be:
- Alignment with the new data strategy.
- Exploitation of big data (GCP) and relational databases:
- Inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data
- Analysis of complex data from multiple sources.
- Analysis and definition of KPIs to identify business opportunities and achieve OKRs.
- Development of ETLs and processes.
- Migrations
**“Must have” Requirements**:
- 5+ years experience as a data engineer or similar role.
- Experience in converting business problems/challenges to technical solutions considering security, performance, scalability etc.
- Experience working with Cloud Data Warehouses/Datalakes.
- SQL advanced skills (Big Query).
- Python advanced skills.
- Experience developing ETL in GCP.
- Experience with RDBMS like Oracle, DB2.
- Experience with real-time data processing and data warehousing aggregation.
- Complex problem solving abilities.
- Flexible and proactive/self-motivated working style with strong personal ownership of problem resolution and excellent interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the importance of governance and security rules when handling data.
- Fluent in English.
**“Nice to have” requirements**:
- Experience with data projects in GCP in retail and/or logistics multinational environments.
- Pyspark, Scala
- SAS
- Advanced data visualization skills (Data Studio, Looker, Power BI).
