Product Owner

AstraZeneca’s R&D Data Office is an industry-leading enabler of data and AI strategy. The Data Office provides data services, technology, and data products, supported by data and AI policy and governance, to unlock the value of data that drive innovative science.

The R&D Imaging Platform Product Owner role is based in the newly created Scientific Data Products and Platforms group within the R&D Data Office, which is part of Data Science and AI in AZ R&D. Together with the R&D Imaging Platform Team, you will advance the R&D Imaging Platform that serves to provide enriched analytics ready imaging data when and where it is needed. By making imaging data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR), the Imaging Platform enables researchers to make new correlations, better characterize disease, improve patient stratification, monitor therapeutic response and ultimately accelerate the drug development process.

The Imaging Platform enables the repatriation of imaging data from our external partners (eg. Calyx, Labcorp), data management of imaging data throughout its lifecycle, data access to approved users via highly performant and innovative interfaces (APIs) and provides image analysis and viewing tools for Imaging Scientists.

**Accountability **as** Product Owner** **for **the R&D Imaging Platform.**

As Product Owner you will work closely with imaging/data scientists, data engineers and therapeutic areas across AstraZeneca R&D to uncover and understand customer needs, translate these into prioritised requirements to be developed and also maintain the product roadmap. The Product Owner defines new features that meet these needs and steers development teams in IT to build changes, ensuring implementation matches customer expectations. Using agile delivery methodology, you will lead the Planning Increments driving what is planned to be delivered and communicated to stakeholders.

- Serve Product owner according to Agile framework.
- Understand customer needs and validate solutions
- Understand and support portfolio work
- Develop and communicate the program vision and roadmap
- Manage and prioritize the flow of work
- Participate in Program Increment planning
- Define releases and program increments
- Work with System Architect/Engineering to understand Enabler work.
- Participate in demos and Inspect and Adapt
- Build an effective Product Owner team

**Education, Qualifications, **Skills** and Experience**

**Essential**
- Hands-on experience from Agile development, preferably in a business context.
- Relevant degree in Information/Data Science, Computer Science, Informatics, IT, or other related discipline.
- Experience of pharma and the life sciences
- Experience of senior data leadership
- Experience of running project in a GxP regulated environment
- Track record of significant strategic data project delivery with demonstration of clear scientific and/or operational value
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
- Conflict resolution: succeeding in situations where a high degree of business acumen, influencing and tact are required to find a way forward
- Needs the energy, experience, and motivation to work across global & functional boundaries
- Travel - willingness and ability to travel domestically & internationally.
- Resilience - ability to overcome and motivate others in the face of a changing environment

**Desirable**
- Experience of achieving tangible and acknowledged value in a similar position and scale of challenge and opportunity.
- Knowledge of Drug Discovery and Development practice in BioPharma
- Strong Change Management track record.
- Experience project manager with a great understanding of the project phase and the connection between classic project management and Agile ways of working
