**Postdoc scientist**

**Advanced Chronic Liver Disease Laboratory**

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized postdoc researcher with leadership and mentoring skills as
well as critical thinking, to lead a research line in our laboratory and become and independent researcher in
the coming 2-3 years. The Advanced Chronic Liver Disease Laboratory belongs to the Chronic Liver Disease
Research Group at VHIR. We are interested in the mechanisms leading to liver fibrosis and portal
hypertension in liver disease, mostly of metabolic injury and alcohol-related origin, as well as the immune
and inflammatory underlying pathways. We use the rat model and several ex vivo techniques.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required**:

- PhD in life sciences with at least 1-3 years of postdoc experience
- Laboratory experience
- Mentoring experience with PhD and/or Masters’ students
- Fluency in English

**Desired**:

- Experience with rodent models of liver disease
- Experience with -omics, ex vivo models of liver disease, CRISP
- Knowledge on the immunological bases of liver disease
- Experience as PI or co-PI of a competitive project

**Main responsibilities and duties**:

- Lead one research line in the laboratory
- Give support to the head lab in coordinating the research and training activities
- Collaborate with partners at the local and international level
- Mentor PhD and Masters’ students
- Analyze experimental and bioinformatics’ data
- Keep track of new opportunities for funding and educational activities

**Labour conditions**:

- Full-time position: 40h/week.
