The quality engineering team behind the Apple TV App is looking for an extraordinary Sr. QA Manager to help ensure our embedded streaming services are loved by our users. As a part of the quality engineering team responsible for the test systems that certify quality of our streaming apps, you will be based out of Barcelona and lead our Apple TV App QA team across two locations in the EU that are building/executing manual/automated tests at scale and solutions to ensure delivery of universally loved content like Severance, Ted Lasso, For All Mankind, and much more to our beloved users. You will collaborate with the broader engineering, EPM and quality organizations during all project phases to build rock-solid client test strategies, maintain test labs, identify product defects, and help ensure our products reach the highest quality standards for our user base. You will also be responsible for all test operations at the Barcelona site for all ASE QA teams operating from that location including working with facilities, vendors & site admins to ensure smooth operations.
**Description**
Manage a geographically distributed team of manual & automation QA engineers. Lead the design & execution of scalable test solutions for complex Apple TV App features across 3rd party platforms. Own the end-to-end test automation strategy for the Apple TV App across all 3rd party platforms. Build strong relationships with key partners from engineering, EPM & partner QA teams to ensure successful product releases. Own the build out & maintenance of a test lab with 100+ devices under test. Manage vendor relationships for all ASE QA teams operating out of the Barcelona including the on/off boarding of contract resources. Liaise with local facilities, local/remote site admins, remote QA managers to ensure smooth day to day operations (seating, badge access, test equipment, lab space etc.). Work with senior leadership within the TV & Sports organization to define, track & communicate key success KPIs for the lab & all manual/automated test efforts.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- 15+ years of experience in testing & releasing high quality customer facing products, with at least 8 years managing high performing QA teams.
- Extensive background in driving large automated test initiatives, including building strategies for triaging and dash boarding results at scale.
- Extensive experience in creating a shared vision for the team, negotiating with partner teams, seeking alignment & advocating on behalf of quality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Hands-on experience creating end-to-end test plans, executing test suites, managing bug lifecycles & creating test reports.
- Demonstrable ability in creating & maintaining automated frameworks, CI/CD pipelines and coding for test automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues and communicate findings effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with the passion to deliver high-quality work on a tight schedule.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent experience
