Technical Product Owner

As a Technical Product Owner your primary responsibility is to deliver value for our customers via owning the requirements of the backlog. Working as part of our Engineering team and very close to the Head of Software Projects, you will also work closely alongside our Operations and Quality teams.

We follow an agile approach to our work, with regular standups and sprint retrospectives. You will represent the customer to the engineering team, helping bridge operations and engineering by bringing new insights to the table.

You will be responsible for the backlog and making sure that requirements and user stories are captured, are well defined and are ready for development against a strict set of agreed criteria in our Statements of Work.

Your role will help explain and clarify priorities and articulate the ‘what’ and ‘why’ for each backlog item. You will be available to the development team to answer any questions team members have regarding the customer’s needs and the customer's views of how the team is implementing a product feature.

You will also be responsible for tracking bugs. You will support the creation of the roadmaps and will be responsible for the effective prioritisation planning of each iteration (requirements and bugs).

You will take ownership of some of the main artefacts we need to create and maintain like user documentation, functional specification, technical documentation, or release notes.

You may also participate in the software release process, working closely with the engineering team and reviewing the final steps of the release, assuring the quality of each release and the good communication with the rest of the teams and the customer.

You will be responsible for:

- Owning the requirements and bug tracker backlog
- Setting the priorities for each release
- Maintaining and communicating a release plan internally and externally as needed
- Ensuring requirements and user stories are well defined and pursue the team to achieve the standards:

- Meet the Definition of Ready
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures
- Setting acceptance criteria, with bioinformatics, engineering and testing teams.
- Heavily Contribute to the design of the User Interface of our tooling
- Working with the Operations, Quality and Engineering teams on a daily basis to enable delivery
- Owning the risks related to requirements and bugs under a medical device development environment
- Being available to the rest of the teams to answer questions regarding the customer’s needs/requirements and their feedback, being the bridge between the different teams.
- Working with our compliance team, specifically our Quality & Regulation team to ensure:

- All requirements, bugs and defects comply with our regulatory requirements
- Standard Operating Procedures are being adhered to
- Participating in customer and operations team meetings to fully understand the expectation of our customers
- Working with Head of Engineering to define configurations needed in the global management platform
- Owning different document artefacts like release notes or the technical file under the medical device regulatory system.

**Requirements**:

- Bioinformatician by qualification or by experience (5+ years)
- Some experience in a software company or understanding of software development processes
- E.g. Items like Helm, security
- Genomics and clinical genomics experience
- Fluent in English and Spanish

**Experience nice to have**
- Product Owner experience
- Experience working with a CE marked product
- Experience working with ClickUp or similar Project Management tools
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry
