What we expect from the Estimations Engineer (Mechanical)

The mission of the Mechanical Estimator is to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical projects, ensuring all activities meet the highest standards. To develop technical offers to generate new internal projects ranging from design to implementation in the different automation functions. Support sales area in selling technology solutions to prospects and existing customers. The role involves modeling financial business cases, matching customer requirements to proposed solutions and delivering compelling presentations and demos.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for mechanical components, assemblies, and systems used in production equipment, primarily within the automotive sector
- Analyze customer RFQs, specifications, and technical documentation to assess feasibility and define project scope.
- Calculate material, manufacturing, assembly, and logistics costs for mechanical systems and structural components.
- Prepare cost calculations with international scope.
- Generate preliminary bill of materials (BOMs) to support quotation development
- Request and evaluate supplier quotations for mechanical parts and subassemblies
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and procurement, during the bidding and planning phases.
- Coordinate closely with the electrical estimating team to ensure comprehensive and aligned quotations.
- Support the preparation and structuring of customer offers
- Maintain and continuously improve internal calculation tools, templates, and cost databases
- Identify technical and commercial optimization opportunities to increase competitiveness
- Study and prepare the necessary documentation to submit commercial offers and tenders, in accordance with the guidelines of his supervisor, to obtain the award and contract of the same.
- Estimate project execution hours on customer site.
- Detailed analysis of the terms and conditions. Generation of bid documentation, reports and budgets.
- Successfully match customer requirements to proposed solutions.
- Manage all technical aspects of RFP / RFI responses.
- Identification and pre-qualification of suppliers of services, equipment, materials and resources. Interlocution with contractors international partners. Obtaining bids and technical information. Analysis and incorporation of the best proposals to the budget and bid.

What will you need to succeed in the job?
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with both internal departments and external partners.
- International geographic mobility (short temporary displacements).
- +3 years experience.
- Technical expertise in automation engineering areas
- Advaced level pf MS Office, MS Project and SAP
- High level of English
