**Job Purpose**
Working in our Barcelona office, the Head of Legal is part of our Corporate team. Providing Legal support and advice, the Head of Legal will ensure a trusted service that is efficient, lean, adaptive and agile while enabling the reduction of risk.
**Main Responsibilities - Tasks**
As the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to the company, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting business strategies from a legal perspective. You will be a strategic partner to senior management and play a key role in risk management and protecting the company's interests. Your main responsibilities will be:
- Legal Counsel and Board Secretary of LEVEL
- Advise on Regulation 261, regulatory, consumer matters, and enforcement procedures.
- Advise on compliance and competition law matters.
- Offer holistic legal advice to LEVEL business units,
- Review and advise on contracts upon request and coordinate the execution of contracts.
- Provide support to the DPO of the legal department.
- Support in the development and implementation of the IAG group compliance program at LEVEL.
**Education**
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, admitted to practice in Spain.
**Experience**
- Minimum of 10 years of legal practice, preferably with experience in the aviation industry or highly regulated sectors.
- Experience in leadership and management of legal teams.
**Competencies**
- In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the aviation industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Demonstrate a history of effectively managing and prioritizing concurrent projects/tasks and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work closely with all levels of management and operational personnel to provide efficient and practical business solutions.
- Excellent communication skills that will support ability to explain complex legal and contract management matters and compliment your strong drafting and negotiation.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively within multicultural teams.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure and switch hats during daily operations. Strong time management and organisational skills coupled to persistent attention to detail.
