**Platform Risk**

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) topics are areas of rapid and significant change, increasingly shaping how business is conducted, regulated, measured and reported on.

From a risk management perspective, BNP Paribas considers that ESG factors are risk drivers that may have potential impacts on existing risks such as credit, operational or market risks.

In this context, BNP Paribas has decided to take bold actions to further strengthen the Bank’s initiatives and framework in these areas. So did the RISK Function aiming at supporting and steering the integration of ESG risk factors within Group’s risk management framework. RISK shall ensure adequate set-ups are in place to identify, assess, validate, measure, manage, monitor and report on the ESG related performance and risks through the client journey (from onboarding, products origination and through credit process).

**MISSION**:
Within the RISK Function, RISK Corporate mission statement is to:

- Ensure the quality of risks taken on Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) corporate activities (namely the clients of CIB Global Banking.) It acts as the second line of defense on all credit decisions relating to CIB GB corporate clients to guarantee quality and consistency with a level of risk acceptable to the Bank (risk profile and policies). This also applies to ESG risks.
- Monitor the risk profile of corporate exposures
- Lead the Corporate Clients Continuum

Within RISK Corporate, the Corporate Clients Continuum Management team (RISK Corporate CCCM), oversees transversal credit topics related to Corporate Clients. The main objective of the team is to guarantee a consistent risk approach within CIB Global Banking framework and more globally across the BNPP Group in the context of the Corporate Stream.

It is composed of two teams: a team of Project Managers and a team of secretaries to the General Management and WL/DD & Provisioning Committees.

The aim of the CCCM team is to:

- Develop and disseminate a common « Corporate Risk Culture » within CIB GB as well as across the Bank in coordination with the Corporate Stream
- Provide best tools and jurisprudence to allow reliable and efficient decision making and monitoring process
- Lead projects or represents RISK Corporate in transversal projects led at Group or CIB level on regulatory, credit process or policies / risk appetite / ESG topics.
- Manage the secretariat of the General Management credit and provisioning committees (CCDG and CDDG) as well as WL&DD quarterly reviews for corporate and FI clients at BNPP Group level.

As far as the ESG topic is concerned, RISK CCCM is the SPOC for RISK Corporate and for the Corporate Stream.
