We would like to get onboard a Logistics Project Operator:
1. Objectives of the position:
Target of this function is to ensure ordering and shipment of all project required material in time, complete and most efficient considering all logistics requirements. For A/B and complex C- projects the LPO will be coordinated by the Logistics Project Manager (LPM). In all other projects the LPO will be coordinated respectively by the CPM/WPC/PM.

2. Area of resposibility

During the project execution phase the LPO takes care on the sourcing process by steering the Project Procurement Operator for all requested material batches considering the project schedule, the economical processing as well as the contractual, commercial and import requirements.
- Furthermore, the LPO takes care of the execution of the deliveries until arrival at site / warehouse.

3. Main tasks
- Adequate planning of required material and shipment batches in cooperation with PM, factory and warehouse in accordance to the project schedule. Analyzing of current stock level to coordinate the Project Procurement Operator
- Proactive information to PM / CPM about the readiness for shipment of project & factory material
- Consideration of the project material related requirements like contractual-, commercial-, Siemens internal-, as well as the legal/import requirements of the destination country during the execution of the project logistics tasks
- Establishment of the Logistics Management Plan related to the parts of his entity.
- Overall coordination of the establishment of the Logistics Management Plan in case of lead entity.
- If necessary/requested by the project establish and maintain a material list for planning, controlling and reporting purpose.
- Initiate the delivery by introducing the relevant data in SAP, check availability of material and coordinate with the warehouse the packaging of material according to project requirements
- Creation of shipping documents like packing list, invoice, certificates etc. with necessary interfaces; arrange export customs clearance in cooperation with ECC
- Align the shipping documents with the end customer
- Arrange transportation with nominated forwarder based on negotiated rates by corporate, project individual rates or frame contracts provided by LPM
- Follow-up of the shipment until arrival at point of handover (e.g. site / warehouse)
- Initiate and moderate regular logistics jour fixe cross-country
- Single point of contact for project team regarding status of material and shipment
- As long as the site receives material, the local LPO is responsible for (if relevant) the customs clearance and the local transport to the warehouse as well as for the storage and distribution on site.
- Support the return and damage handling

If no LPM is used in the project, the LPO takes over the tasks of the LPM
