- About the Job_

As the Science Finance Performance Lead, you’ll be at the heart of Opella’s innovation engine — the Science Hub — which drives regulatory, pharmacovigilance, and medical activities with a €180 million budget and ~700 headcounts across 4 Development Centers.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, driving performance, and enabling data-driven decisions that fuel our R&D and innovation efforts.
- Main Responsibilities_

Be a Business Partner for Science Team.
- Support Science teams in their decision-making process based on sound judgment, finance expertise and business acumen.
- Partner with Science teams to provide a financial perspective on the analysis and evaluation of opportunities.
- Lead ad hoc projects.

Focus on financial performance:

- Ensure closing and business reports are created on-time and with accuracy, in compliance with the reporting calendar issued by Corporate.
- Monitor, drive and report the business performance in coordination with the Financial Performance Head and Science teams ensuring that leadership team has access to accurate, timely and relevant financial data, reports and key metrics.
- Analyze monthly figures and support the preparation of the Monthly Performance Reviews: monitor performance vs set targets and defined KPIs, identify gaps vs. plan - in collaboration with local teams.
- Develop a very good knowledge of the reporting and financial tools and processes (TM1, ERPs systems, E-Buy/Leo, etc.) to deliver efficient and lean processes.

Lead budget & forecast
- Support the financial processes in forecast/budget periods: run of scenarios based on Global guidelines and target, prepare the reviews, ensure consistency of information and data, identify risks and opportunities.
- Challenge Business assumptions and ensure consistency of the forecasts from a finance standpoint.
- Monitor against forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
- About You_
- You bring strong financial acumen and a passion for performance — with experience in controlling, forecasting, and business partnering.
- You’re a collaborative problem-solver, comfortable navigating complexity and change in a global environment.
- You have excellent analytical and presentation skills, able to simplify complex data into clear insights.
- You’re fluent in English and confident working with tools like SAP, TM1, PowerBI, and Excel.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, purpose-driven culture and are excited to support innovation in healthcare.

Location & Travel:

- Primary location in Barcelona, Spain. The position can be also based in Budapest, Hungary.
- Occasionally, limited travel might be required (up to 5%), notably to France
