**Biobank Technician**
**Biobank - Core Facilities**
VHIR offers a vacant position for a Biobank Technician for the Biobank Unit (Core Facilities). The
Vall d’Hebron University Hospital is a research support Unit that collects human biological samples
for biomedical research purposes in compliance with the current legislation, and whose objective is
to make available for the scientific community the biological material necessary for research in
optimal conditions to competitiveness and research excellence.**_. _**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required**:
- Certificate of Higher Education (FPII/CFGS)
**Desired**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences and Health
- English level B2
**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required**:
- Health sector experience.
**Desired**:
- Minimum of one-year previous experience as a lab technician processing biological samples or experience in
Biobanks.

**Main responsibilities and duties**:
- Human biological sample reception and processing following standard operating procedures
- Sample and associated data registry at the Biobank database
- Sample processing: DNA and RNA extraction, serum and plasma separation, sample aliquoting, and
mononucleated cell separation
- Sample storage
- Sample preparation and delivery for sample requests for research projects
- Ensure compliance with quality standards
- Control of stock and place orders
- Maintenance and verification of equipment
**Labour conditions**:
- Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: immediate.
- Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our
Collective Agreement pay scale
