Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity for **_Contract Operations Manager_** located in Tarragona, Spain. This role will exist to oversee contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Commercial compliance are maintained, and the Company's procedures and objectives are achieved. The position provides an excellent cross-business and cross-functional development opportunity.

The **_Contract Operations Manager_** will report to the Site Contract Operation Leader and works close together with TES leadership team, Purchasing, Turnaround/ Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Projects Engineers, Construction Managers, Maintenance Engineers and Work Activity Coordinators.

**Responsibilities / Duties**:

- Participate with Procurement team in Pre-awarding meetings and provide them with reliable info in order to ensure effective awarding process, specially with the economic evaluation.
- Advise our procurement department regarding all matters of claim and risk prevention.
- Monitor high value and/or legally complex claims through the entire claim process and work with internal/external stakeholders in order to achieve best possible claim result.
- Develops and executes contracting strategies and plans to ensure EH&S, quality and schedule requirements are met at an optimum cost.
- Work closely with EH&S to ensure Top performance of our service providers. Identify and implement Action Plans involving contractor´s management in case of need.
- Leads the QS department and work process for all commodities (Daily Maintenance, Projects, Turnarounds/PitStops)
- Responsible for creating, preparing, reviewing and improving current KPIs.
- Acts as SME for the AES32 software
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and devise plans to implement these changes.
- Member of the Site SMAT team

- Experience working within large plant engineering projects, maintenance and turnaround (from start to finish) will be a plus.
- Problem solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Comfortable facing difficult and courageous conversations.
- Ability to undertake all ad-hoc duties as required, supporting senior management.
- Ability to negotiate and liaise across a range of contractors and colleagues.

**Required qualifications**
- Master’s degree in Engineering
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience
- Fluent in English
