We are seeking a (Senior) Construction Manager to lead our data centre construction projects in Madrid, Spain. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the development of cutting-edge data centre facilities, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and reliability. As part of the strategic partnership between CBRE and Turner & Townsend, this role will be based within CBRE Project Management S.A.
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of data centre construction projects, spending significant time on-site supervising contractors and ensuring high production volume.
- Verify project development according to plans and specifications, supporting the MEP team and acting as a construction liaison for designers and planners.
- Manage project logistics, security, and fire safety, coordinating with the Operator and maintaining direct contact with the Project Management team.
- Conduct regular construction coordination meetings, issuing minutes and approving construction sequences and methods with the planner.
- Oversee contractor performance, including progress monitoring, quality plan verification, and package requirement enforcement.
- Review and process construction Change Orders and operation and maintenance manuals.
**Qualifications**
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with minimum 10 years' experience in construction management, focusing on data centre projects
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale construction projects on time and within budget
- In-depth knowledge of data centre design, mechanical and electrical systems, and high-voltage electrical substations
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities to manage diverse teams effectively
- Proficiency in project management software and ability to interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of construction industry health and safety regulations and sustainable practices
- Fluency in English and Spanish is essential
