Category Buyer

**Eurovision Services (ES) is looking for a Category Buyer for the Business Strategy & Procurement team at Eurovision Services Madrid, Spain.**

**ABOUT THE BUSINESS STRATEGY & PROCUREMENT TEAM**

The Business Strategy & Procurement team is responsible for mid to long-term business strategy, looking at trends in the market and specifically assessing the potential impact of technology trends in the satellite, telecommunications, and media industries, as well as synchronising Sales, Technology and Operations road maps with the overall ES multi-year strategic plan.

The team is also responsible for implementing the procurement strategy and negotiating important supply deals (for example for equipment, fibre, and satellite capacity) to deliver best-in-class network resources for the organisation and provide viable business cases for customer solutions.

Based in Madrid and reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Category Buyer will be in charge for the purchasing of goods and services needed to provide ES broadcast services. In addition to ES suppliers, the Category Buyer will also interact with our Engineering and Project Management departments as key internal customers, as well as Bid Management, Finance and Legal.

**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION**

In this role as a Category Buyer, you will:

- Negotiate prices with vendors to obtain the best price for products and services
- Research market trends to determine the best time to purchase products and services
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure all purchases meet the company’s needs
- Determine which vendors are most qualified to meet the company’s needs for products and services
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies and ordering additional stock as needed
- Review bids from prospective suppliers to ensure that they comply with company standards
- Develop a purchasing plan based on the company’s strategic goals
- Review proposals from vendors and selecting those who will receive contracts
- Coordinate with the legal department to draft contracts with suppliers
- Provide reports to the Head of Procurement and the ES Senior Management Team whenever required

**YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Relevant experience in procurement and purchasing
- Comprehensive understanding and proven track record in delivering all aspects of the commercial procurement and purchasing lifecycle
- Proven multidimensional business capabilities (negotiation, technical specifications, financials, legal terms and conditions).
- Ability to interact with people from different cultures, mindsets and competences and build strong relationships, even when working remotely.
- Highly professional, innovative, and flexible mindset.
- Budget management expertise.
- Detail-oriented.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
- Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Professional level verbal and written communications skills.
- Fluent in English.

**ADDED VALUE**

Additional experience in the following areas would be a bonus:

- Experience or knowledge in the broadcast industry
- Experience working collaboratively with geographically distributed and international teams (our headquarters are located in Switzerland).
- French is a plus.

**EDUCATION**

Bachelor or master’s degree, preferably in telecommunication, broadcasting, electronics or business.
