AstraZeneca is investing in data management and analysis capabilities, through its long-term Growth Through Innovation Strategy. As a key member of the Data & AI Policy & Governance Team within our Data Office, you will be shaping, implementing, managing and maturing the R&D Data Privacy support function. This is your chance to balance benefit and risk for responsible use of personal / pseudonymised data and AI, and employ a range of skills including policy expertise, project management, knowledge of global data privacy (such as GDPR) and other external regulations pertaining to data / AI.
**Accountabilities**:
You will provide strong leadership to promote best practices in maturing data privacy compliance within R&D. Your role will include mentoring and setting business tasks for the Data Privacy Support team, developing effective processes to streamline and simplify policy / processes, coordinating the Data Privacy support function within R&D, leading on the ROPA deployment and maintenance, privacy impact assessments and acting on behalf of and representing the Data Privacy Lead for R&D. You will also define project requirements from interactions with senior partners and collaborators across R&D functions, lead all aspects of delivery and partner management.
**Essential Skills/Experience**:
- CIPP/E or equivalent Data Privacy qualification (such as BCS / IAPP)
- Substantial experience in a Data Privacy related role
- Experience of pharma and the life sciences
- Change Management track record.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
- Strong project or programme leadership skills
- Excellent organisational skills, and ability to prioritise different projects/priorities and deliver high quality outcomes under pressure
- Experience of achieving tangible and acknowledged value in a similar position and scale of challenge and opportunity.
