Responsibilities and duties will include:
- Maintain adequate books & records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and Spain and Portugal company law, including journal posting, month-end close in line with the Group's reporting timeline, accruals and prepayments, balance sheet substantiation
- Support Asset Management on the preparation of the budget and periodic financial forecasts, working with Asset Management to explain and communicate variances against budget
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Support finance manager on bank reporting in line with Facility Agreement
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Liaise with advisors and head office to comply with Transfer Pricing
- Liaise with advisors on VAT claims for the projects
- Monitor and control accounts receivables and payables
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Integration and onboarding of new assets
- Updating, improving and implementing procedures for the finance team
International company located in the centre of Madrid|General accountant with Navision and high English level
- Abroad accounting and controlling experience with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role
- Degree in Accounting or similar
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Self-starter who can manage a full and varied workload and deadlines
- Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), including ability to quickly familiarise with accounting software. Previous exposure to NAVISION ERP is essential.
- Ability to identify, manage and resolve issues
- Strong communication skills
- Advanced level of English and Portuguese will also be considered;
- Demonstrates a critical approach and is motivated, bright and personable
- Proactive and pragmatic with a positive attitude and can-do approach
- Enthusiastic and able to take ownership of problems and provide solutions
- Strong team player with an open and proactive approach to sharing of information and creating knowledge for the group
