**FINANCIAL CONTROLLER SOUTHERN EUROPE**

**PURPOSE OF POSITION**:
Based in Madrid, reporting to the Southern Europe CFO, the position is responsible to drive business performance through regular fact-based stakeholder engagement, developing awareness of financial performance and clarifying and improving the business trade-offs to be made.

Provide transparent analysis and insights and pro-actively recommend action to capture opportunities for growth and effectiveness.

Develop business cases for new initiatives together with the business owners, and define thresholds, benchmarks and KPI’s.

Support Southern Europe main stakeholders: Commercial teams, Real Estate, Business Planning, Logistics, etc.

**GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Team member of the Planning & Analysis (Finance Dpt)
- Build a strong, continuous, rapport with the business teams to ensure alignment and build partnership
- Empower the business teams through regular KPI performance analysis and reviews and quantitative analysis as well as recommendations on business decisions and forward-looking projections to contribute to better decision-making and profitable growth
- Drive financial operations (frameworks, guidelines, planning, methods, processes and ways of working)
- Preparation of **monthly internal reporting**, **analysis of different financial statements and monitoring of KPI's** main business
- Coordinate the **annual budget and monthly monitoring and analysis of deviations**, providing the necessary corrective measures
- Animate **monthly forecast and business plan of the Company**:

- **Analysis of sales and gross margin by product and region/store**, together with significant business KPI's
- Monitoring the **Company's Capex**
- Administrate the portfolio of business initiatives and reflect the impact in plans and forecasts

**RELATIONSHIPS**:

- Reports to the South Europe Director of Finance & Administration
- Constant relation as reliable business partner with Planning &Controlling, Accountancy and other departments in Finance.
- Support rest of Departments in their Financial and ad hoc analysis.
- Finance trusted partner in ad hoc reporting and strategy implementation.
- Support Southern Europe main stakeholders: Commercial teams, Real Estate, Business Planning, Logistics, etc.

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED.**
- Professional qualification in Accounting or University degree in Economic or Business Management. A Post graduate education (MBA or in Finance) will be an asset.
- Experience of at least 5 years in a Big 4, controlling department managing the financial data of a market (South Europe, EMEA or similar)
- Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS)
- Extensive knowledge of financial metrics, KPIs and the functioning of P&L (profit & loss), balance sheet and cash flow statements
- Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS)
- Good knowledge of stakeholder management
- Solid knowledge of Excel (desirable domain macros and VBA) and PWP.
- Work experience in the SAP environment (FI & CO). Desirable experience in the Real Estate module.
- Extensive knowledge of business intelligence tools (SAP BW, Cognos, Infor, Tableau, Jedox etc.)
- **High level of Spanish and English**.
