Public Health Nurse

**Mission Statement**: To improve the quality of life for the Haitian people, particularly women and children.

**Role Purpose**:
Under the supervision of the Public Health Program Manager, the Public Health Nurse will work closely with the Public Health Program Coordinator. The Public Health Nurse is responsible for, but not limited to, assisting in the planning and implementation of public health activities including, Community Health Workers (CHWs) training, physical assessment in partner schools, dental assessment in partner schools, vision assessment in partner schools, commemoration of special days and site visits. She/He will also provide patient care. She/He will work closely with the Hope for Haiti team, medical partners, beneficiary schools, community health workers and community leadership to ensure Hope for Haiti’s public health programming is functioning efficiently and effectively.

**Essential Duties and Tasks**
- Assist with planning, budgeting, and implementing public health activities
- Work diligently with the program beneficiaries to coordinate and execute activities
- Work with the PH team to determine the supplies and materials needed for public health programming
- Work with Operations and Public Health teams to procure the supplies/materials in a timely manner
- Plan and participate deworming sessions, evaluation sessions among others at schools
- Monthly Report public health activities to the PHPM
- Plan and implement continuing training for CHWs
- Explore new public health partnerships & training institutions
- Organize with other healthcare providers to promote public health messages for national/international health days annually
- Participate in the review and update Public Health curriculum to include relevant and updated global health trends
- Support communication and program coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP).

**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Nursing License required
- Advanced skills in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Tools and Internet
- Experience in public health
- Knowledge in project Monitoring and Evaluation
- Good written and reporting skills
- Ability to write and speak in French and Haitian Creole, English preferred
- Passion and enthusiasm for non-profit work
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and joyful demeanor
- Ability to work and establish good relationships with co-workers, partners, and non-partners

**COMPENSATION & BENEFITS**

Annual salary commensurate with experience (DOE).
