**The Institute**
The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.
In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' Award from the European Commission. This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).

**The role**
This position aims to foster the quality and impact of research at CRG by leading the development of knowledge and practices around responsible research. The coordinator will oversee the identification, analysis, and communication of research indicators—including bibliometric and CoARA-aligned metrics—to inform institutional decision-making. The role also includes coordinating institutional and strategic projects that promote research quality and societal impact, as well as contributing to the writing of competitive proposals particularly those focused on transversal areas such as research ethics, open science, sustainability, and gender equality. In addition, the coordinator ensures internal alignment with CRG’s strategic goals and external positioning in national and international initiatives such as CoARA, EU-LIFE, and SoMMa. The position involves supervising a dedicated team working on research quality, indicators, and impact, and plays a key role in institutional strategy development.
**About the**department**
You will join the SaF team, a dynamic unit supporting the scientific community at CRG in securing competitive funding, fostering responsible research practices, and shaping institutional strategy. The team also leads transversal activities such gender equality, diversity, research data management, and research quality. The coordinator will work closely with other members of the SaF team and collaborate across CRG departments and with international partners.
**Whom** would we like to hire?**
**Professional experience**
**Must Have**
- You have at least 5 years of experience in coordinating institutional or strategic research projects
- You have proven experience managing teams and driving collaborative initiatives in the fields of research quality, research assessment, and/or impact
- You are fluent in English
**Desirable but not required/ Nice to have**
- Experience working in or with European research policy networks (e.g. EU-LIFE, CoARA, SoMMa, BIST, CERCA)
- Familiarity with open science, research ethics, or data management policies
**Education and training**
- You hold a PhD in life sciences, or a related field
- Proven experience in research management
**Languages**
- You are proficient in English
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or Catalan is an asset
**Technical skills**
- You have advanced MS Office 365 and are comfortable working with collaborative digital tools (e.g. SharePoint, Trello, Confluence) including AI tools (CoPilot, ChatGTP)
- Experience with indicator platforms (e.g. iMarina), survey platforms, or evaluation tools is a plus
**Competences**
- Highly developed organizational and coordination skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strategic thinking, creativity, and problem-solving mindset
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate teams
- Strong writing skills, including experience with grant proposals and policy documents
- Proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented
