**Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Group**
A new Project Manager position is available in the team of Prof. Miquel Vila to manage and coordinate an ambitious,

trans-disciplinary $11M research project funded from the Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP) initiative. ASAP is

partnering with The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) to implement and issue this grant.

The project team led by Prof. Vila will be investigating the molecular mechanisms linking brain circuit activity to Parkinson’s

disease (PD) vulnerability, identify brain circuits through which PD pathology spreads across the brain and periphery,

establish non-neuronal mechanisms of PD progression and determine whether modulation of neuromelanin levels and/or

brain circuit activity can restore PD circuit dysfunction & pathology. The project team includes scientists from Spain,

**Main responsibilities and duties:

Assist the Coordinating Lead PI of the project with the day-to-day coordination of all team efforts to consistently

maintain a high level of functionality and communication.Serve as a bridge between the team’s scientific work and its operations, and between members of other ASAP

teams, allowing lead investigators to focus on the science.Liaise with funder staff (ASAP and MJFF) including other facilitators to report on progress and any barriers or

resource needs.Serve as the key point-of-contact with the project consortium members. Ensure that researchers communicate

about current work plans, problems, resource needs, and create groups and ad hoc discussions as necessary.Organize and moderate project subgroup and annual meetings, report and follow up on action items, and

ensure the team is on track with milestones.Assist with editing and posting presentations for easy and quick access by other teams and external

associates.Keep profiles of lab members up to date within the ASAP Virtual Hub, with an eye toward promoting interactio
