**Title**: Global Commercial & Construction Manager

**THE ROLE**

This is a new high-impact role and is a perfect opportunity for a professional with broad procurement experience - ideally already working within the Renewable Energy Environment (Solar PV, Energy Storage, Wind, Investment) or within broader infrastructure procurement - to join NextEnergy Capital

**Key accountabilities**:

- Manage the successful delivery of new and/or M&A projects to COD
- Providing support on new Renewable Energy projects - Solar PV, Energy Storage, Wind. Either through early-stage development or M&A management of project delivery
- Ensure quality and high standards are maintained and delivered through the contracting process and project execution phases
- Provide regular updates to the broader team and management regarding project performance, budgets and development opportunities
- Be responsible for Commercial Negotiations with EPC Contractors, Technical Advisors and Consultants
- Able to create and define new business processes and procedures for this key centralised function
- Gain “buy-in” from key internal stakeholders to enable the rollout of Global function to the wider business
- Negotiate large-scale investments, whilst being able to manage risk and maintain an overview of cost management is essential
- Manage financial risks, whilst delivering infrastructure investment
- Coordinate complex project development and delivery processes, whilst ensuring coordination amongst multiple stakeholders and delivering results in an ever-changing and complex environment
- Manage ambitious and dynamic timelines, whilst communicating risks and managing change in an agile and flexible manner
- Be able to manage tender processes and contract negotiation across multiple technical disciplines including, but not limited to contracting EPC/ ICP counterparties, and Grid Connection companies
- Engage in complex technical matters relating to component selection and project execution methodologies
- Experience and understanding of how procurement strategies interact and influence technical considerations are important
- Act as a matter expert and provide general market insight to colleagues as and when required
- As required provide project cost-vs-benefit analysis, when viewed in line with Investment strategies
- Build strong relationships and maintain trust with:

- The Project Delivery Team (PDT) to manage the implementation, and delivery “on time and on cost” execution of the Global project pipeline. Be responsible for supporting Planning and Development - for the pre-planning project design, project optimisation and progressing projects into and out of the planning system successfully
- The pre-construction team to plan the delivery of new developments
- Managing & Investment Director(s), to ensure delivery of projects on time and within budget
- Internal and external technical experts, EPC contractors and consultants to solve complex project and planning-related issues
- External legal advisors and appropriate experts
- Colleagues and other important partners throughout the global supply chain

**EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS**
- Degree and/or relevant working experience required - from Engineering, Economics, Energy, and Finance backgrounds
- +5 years’ experience within the procurement of equipment and Contracting of large-scale renewable projects, or within the broader energy utility sector such as Oil & Gas
- Have a deep understanding of the procurement tender process and contractor evaluation for construction and key equipment supplier contracts
- Experience in managing the procurement process from RFP/ RFQ through to contract negotiation and close is required Able to work across multiple levels of the business and articulate matters relating to procurement and global supply chain advantages and challenges
- Able to liaise with and manage legal counsel regarding supply chain Contracts. An appreciation of FIDIC Green Book is advantageous, although not essential
- Experience in working with and supporting a project delivery team throughout a project lifecycle is an advantage
- Must be able to track spending, and administer budgets across multiple projects to support cost-effective project investment

**SKILLS & COMPETENCIES**
- Strong relationship management and negotiation skills are essential
- Proven business acumen is essential
- Able to confidently manage and co-ordinate meetings with key suppliers
- Flexible and willing to travel as per the business needs
- Full clean driver’s license
- Highly pro-active, possessing strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Be driven by intellectual curiosity and the desire to succeed
- Be a committed team player with the ability to multi-task, use initiative and perform well under
