EHS Hub Manager Spain and IKF

Job Summary

MISSION:
Embed a strong and positive safety culture and ensure that operations for the perimeter (Hub Spain and IKF) fully comply with local legislation and corporate policies in regards with EH&S policies and procedures, providing workplaces that are safe and protective of human health and the environment.

Lead Environment, Health and Safety activities across Hub sites, coordinating the Plant EHS Managers, with a continuous improvement perspective to reach Zero accidents

JOB SCOPE/DIMENSIONS:
Part of the Business Area Performance Minerals EMEA whose scope is: 80 sites in 24 countries - 3700 employees - €1.2b revenue.

Spain and IKF Hub involve 6 production sites and 1 quarry for a total of 360 employees. The sites are located in Rubí (Barcelona), Alicante, El Ejido, Morón de la Frontera, La Guardia, Elche de la Sierra and Hodmezovasarhely

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Alongside the Hub Director, and functionally aligned to the PM EMEA EHS team, responsible for Environment, Health, Safety practices and results across the hub sites and teams.- Ensures H&S best-in-class industrial standards are achieved in the framework of Imerys Safety System. Leads H&S systems at hub level and supports H&S managers on site- Promotes a strong Safety culture across the hub.- Ensures industrial and mining operations of the hub are run in compliance with local environmental regulations, best-in class industry practices and Imerys guidelines- Prioritizes EHS programs and corrective action plans implementation- Collaborates with Hub Operation managers, Site managers and on-site EHS managers to transfer best practices quickly- Performs Environment, H&S site gap analysis with Imerys guidelines and local regulatory EHS standards- Shares good practices across the hub- Provides advice and support to the Site managers and local EHS teams for all EHS related issues- Implement Group/Hubs EHS programs and protocols across the Hub- Carries out regular gap-analysis reports between actual work places or procedural aspects and legal/Group compliance requirements on safety, environment and health topics, promptly advising Site Managers and local EHS representatives in order to develop the proper corrective plans- Trains and coaches workers when required on the topics within the EHS competence: risk assessment, internal EHS rules, usage of PPE, EHS protocols and procedures, emergency procedures on prevention and protection measures- Organizes and conducts meetings regarding the protection of health and safety at work with all stakeholders as per established deadlines- Implements and keeps up-to-date emergency and crisis management plans in collaboration with local EHS representatives and the other managers involved- Collaborates in the management of contractors in compliance with the regulatory requirements and procedures of the Imerys Group- Oversees, together with the required management, the ISO 14001 certification audits, insurance audits and any Group Audit that has to do with EHS matters (either in full or part)- Prepares/maintains EHS reports and KPIs on the basis of legislative obligations and internal needs- In case of any accident/incident, helps to conduct investigation and root cause analysis to define in collaboration with the site managers and local EHS managers to define a clear corrective action plan and transfer best practices quickly

- Previous experience as EHS Manager in a production site, ideally in an international environment within a matrix organisation.- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time in Spain and/or to Hungary- Good knowledge of Safety Systems- Well versed in local and industrial EHS regulations- Ability to positively influence teams in a matrix organization- Continuous Improvement mindset- Ability to organise skills development path- Engineering background or equivalent- Master in Occuàtional Risk Prevention- Fluent in English and Spanish- Previous experience in EHS system implementation and EHS management
